Academic integrity is a fundamental pillar of educational, professional, and social life. It refers to intellectual honesty and scientific integrity in using, transmitting, documenting, publishing, and producing research.
Forms of Academic Integrity Violations
- Cheating: Copying others' work and unauthorized use of any materials in training tasks and exams.
- Plagiarism: Quoting others' phrases and works without proper citation.
- Misuse of Academic Assistance: Exploiting a colleague’s work without their knowledge.
- Fabrication and Falsification: Altering or fabricating information in an exam or assignment.
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else in a course or exam.
- Multiple Submissions of the Same Work: Submitting identical work in multiple courses without permission.
- Unfair Advantage: Accessing exam materials before the scheduled time.
Measures Taken to Prevent Violations
- Continuous reminders of Islamic values, especially honesty.
- Promoting academic integrity through training courses.
- Enforcing integrity policies issued by relevant authorities.
- Auditing trainees' tasks to ensure compliance with academic integrity.
- Encouraging trainers to diversify assessment methods.
- Trainees found to have violated integrity procedures in either taking tests or submitting assignments will be penalized with a zero grade for the test or assignment.
